The Ukraine and Russia war rages on as new lines are being crossed.

When people hear the word nuclear energy, they picture huge bombs, missiles, or power plants. Nuclear energy is very dangerous and can render an area unhabitable for decades to come. So, to prevent that, various laws have been laid in place to prevent the use of these weapons and the tampering of these power plants in times of war. This, however, did not stop Russia from targeting a nuclear facility in Ukraine in response to Ukraine’s provocation of the Kremlin. Throughout the battle between Ukraine and Russia, they have paid no regard to it and have attacked each other on or next to their nuclear power plants. In 2022, Russia’s troops attacked a nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, and recently, they allegedly set fire to tires in the cooling towers of the power plant. This is what is referred to as nuclear provocation and is shunned in various laws and conventions held all over the world. Ukraine’s response is uncertain, but this is a very dangerous card Russia intends to use and could hurt millions of people worldwide. This is highly concerning as Russia has refused all attempts at peacekeeping since Ukraine’s recent attacks. The Viewers Corner News team is watching to see what other wild cards they have up their sleeves and what results they hope to achieve with this meaningless war.
