The timetable for the conduct of Edo and Ondo states governorship elections has been released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In the timetable, the Edo State gubernatorial election would hold on September 10, 2016 while that of Ondo state would be on November 26, 2016.
The Schedule of Activities for Edo state gubernatorial election as contained in a statement issued in the commission’s daily bulletin recently in Abuja are as follows; the conduct of party primaries including resolution of disputes arising from the primaries will take place from June 2 to July 4, 2016 and campaigns by political parties should start by June 12, 2016 and ends on September 8, 2016. Also the Official Register of Voters and the list of nominated candidates by political parties for Edo state governorship election would be published by the commission on August 11, 2016.
The Schedule of Activities for Ondo state gubernatorial election are as follows; the conduct of party primaries including resolution of disputes arising from the primaries will take place from August 18 to September 19, 2016 and campaigns are to start on August 28, 2016 and ends on November 24, 2016. The Official Register of Voters and the list of nominated candidates for the election will be published by the commission on October 27, 2016.
