On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the United States President, Donald Trump announced that United States would withdraw from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and restore harsh sanctions against Iran. The Supreme Leader of Iran (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) has responded to Donald Trump’s announcement by calling it “silly and superficial”. Also the Iranian lawmakers at the parliament in Tehran (Iran) burnt two pieces of papers representing the United States flag and the nuclear deal. The international deal was negotiated by the Obama administration and included European Union members Germany, France and Britain. In the deal, most U.S. and international economic sanctions against Iran were lifted in exchange for Iran to restrict its nuclear program but Donald Trump criticized the deal by saying that the deal does not address Iran’s missile program.
