Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that the 78 school children kidnapped at Presbyterian Secondary School in Bamenda (Cameroon) have been released. The students were kidnapped on Sunday morning from the boarding school alongside the school’s principal, a teacher and a driver. The driver was freed with the children but the school’s principal and a teacher are still being held. This is the second such kidnapping in the school (Presbyterian Secondary School in Bamenda) in less than a week. On 31 October 2018, eleven (11) students were kidnapped but later freed. It is unknown who kidnapped the students and their reason for doing so but Cameroonian government and the Anglophone separatist militias have been accusing each other for the kidnap. The rebels (Anglophone separatist movement) started demanding independence for the North-West and South-West regions (the two English-speaking regions in a country) since last year (2017).
Anglophone (English-speakers) in Cameroon are complaining of discrimination and that they want to create an independent state called Ambazonia.
