THE SEAT OF THE ROMANIA PRIME MINISTER IS VACANT, VICTOR PONTA STEPS DOWN AFTER PROTEST.

Viewers Corner’s source in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania informed us that Mr. Victor Ponta has resigned from his post as the Prime Minister of Romania.

According to report, the Romanian people were angry against the government of Victor Ponta which many perceived as corrupt and Ponta himself is facing corruption charges which includes tax evasion, money laundering, conflict of interest and making false statements while he was working as a lawyer in 2007 to 2008. The recent nightclub fire which killed over 30 people triggered about 20,000 Romanians to demonstrate in the Romanian capital on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 demanding Ponta’s resignation. Protests were also held in at least 13 other cities where about 5,000 Romanians turned out in Timisoara and Iasi, as well as 3,000 in Cluj.

On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, Mr. Victor Ponta bowed to pressure and announced his resignation from his post as the Prime Minister of Romania.
