THE PHILIPPINES PRESIDENT, RODRIGO DUTERTE WANTS THE UNITED STATES SPECIAL FORCES TO LEAVE SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES.

Rodrigo Duterte said on Monday, September 12th that he wants the United States special forces who are training the Philippines military to leave the southern part of the country. According to president Duterte who stated that he wants an independent foreign policy, he said that the Americans are high value targets to Abu Sayyaf (the Islamic State-linked militants) widely known for its brutality and kidnapping people especially foreigners for ransom. In 2002, Washington deployed soldiers to train and advise Philippines troops on fighting Abu Sayyaf, though the program was discontinued in 2015 but few United States troops are still in the country (Philippines) for logistics and technical support. Since 2002 the program started in Philippines, dozens of U.S. special forces have been killed in the southern Philippines.
