THE PAKISTAN FORMER MILITARY RULER, PERVEZ MUSHARRAF HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO DEATH ON CHARGES OF TREASON AND SUBVERTING THE CONSTITUTION.

The ex-military ruler of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf has been sentenced to death by a special court in Pakistan. Pervez Musharraf who is in self-imposed exile in Dubai was found guilty of Article 6 for violation of the constitution of Pakistan. He was charged by the court for treason and subverting the constitution. The 76-year-old former ruler, Musharraf was on trial since 2014 for imposing the state of emergency on November 3, 2007 in the country. He left Pakistan for Dubai to seek medical treatment. In 1999, Musharraf took power in a military coup and ruled Pakistan for nine years before being removed from power when his political party lost the election.
