It is a well-known fact that most food items produced in the northern part of Nigeria are consumed mostly in the southern part of the country. This generates huge incomes for the farmers, the government of Nigeria and, at the same time, feeds the large population of the country. Therefore, blocking the distribution of those food items coming from the north to the southern part of Nigeria will create a huge loss of revenue earnings at all levels, which is bad. We have seen a large number of onions perish as a result of the negative policies of some farmers’ associations in Nigeria, which has caused real hardship for some farmers in Nigeria’s northern region. Our point is that, even if there is a misunderstanding between the south and the north, it should be resolved amicably. Let that aspect of the dispute not degenerate into a loss of revenue, because if it does, every party will suffer the pain, like Nigerians are currently experiencing a food shortage. The Viewers Corner News team will use this opportunity to plead with farmers in the northern part of Nigeria and the consumers in the south to come together and have their differences resolved so that there will be a free flow of food items to the southern part of Nigeria, where most farmers from the northern part of Nigeria rely heavily on earning a huge income.
