THE NORTH KOREA FLOODING HAS CLAIMED THE LIVES OF 133 PEOPLE AND DISPLACED ABOUT 107, 000 OTHERS.

The flooding in North Korea which was caused by heavy rain has killed about 133 people in the country’s northeast while 395 are still missing. According to the report made by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), over 35,500 homes were destroyed and 107,000 people had been displaced by the floods. This damage assessment was based on the report made available after the last week visit in the country by the representatives of U.N. agencies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the North’s Red Cross chapter and non-governmental groups. North Korea is prone to natural disaster due to the country’s widespread deforestation for fuel and farming and Kim Jong-un (North Korea supreme leader) who prefer the production of dangerous weapons of mass destruction has no clue on how to solve this natural disaster.
