We (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the Inspector General of police in Nigeria to look into the activities of members of the Nigerian police force. Information reaching Viewers Corner News from our correspondent in Lagos (Nigeria) revealed that the issue of police brutality against the people of Nigeria, most especially the Okada riders in some parts of the country (Nigeria) is getting out of hand. Again, in some parts of Lagos state, if an Okada rider refuses to give bribe to the police officer on duty, the next line of action would be to start beating the Okada rider. Police officers collecting bribe is one aspect of corruption which is against the norms of the noble profession, hence Viewers Corner News team is calling on the Inspector General of police in Nigeria to make it as a point of duty through his commissioners across the country (Nigeria) by organizing tutorial in form of a workshop to teach police officers in the country (Nigeria) that bribery is another aspect of indiscipline which should be avoided. They should be law abiding at all times so as to be able to correct the evils going on in the society. Another part of their job is to protect the people of the country (Nigeria), therefore they should not be the ones breaking the laws of Nigeria which they sworn to uphold.
