Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (the minister of science and technology)

THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN NIGERIA HEADED BY DR. OGBONNAYA ONU IS NOT LIVING UP TO THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA.

When President Buhari’s government made some changes in the cabinet, the Viewers Corner News team expected such changes to reach the ministry of science and technology. This is because Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who is the minister of science and technology, is not doing his job properly. With such a minister heading such an important ministry, Nigeria as a country can not move forward. Looking at the local inventions of some young Nigerians across the country, one would have expected that the science and technology minister and his ministry would have come openly to applaud these young inventors in Nigeria, possibly advise and encourage them. Also, get the attention of President Buhari on this issue. Let the president know why it is important for Nigeria as a country to have a technology-driven economy. Recently, a young man who invented a drone in Nigeria was shown online flying it. This got the attention of a company in Finland as alleged, and right now, the young man may be heading to Finland to continue his career. This is exactly what the Viewers Corner News team expected to see Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who is the minister of science and technology of Nigeria to do by encouraging such a boy to improve on his inventions, which would in the long run, be a blessing to Nigeria. There are so many such people in Nigeria. All they need is assistance, which the government of Nigeria is not giving to them. If the government of Nigeria can look within the country, they are so many talented people who can develop various equipment which Nigeria is spending billions of Naira to import from foreign countries. The hard-earned money would have been channelled towards other areas of development. Though this aspect of development may be a long-term venture, in the end, it will create jobs and bring growth to the economy of Nigeria. Now is the time to get started if the country wants to move forward.
