Democracy is government of the people which is generally acceptable by majority of people of the world but in most third world countries especially Africa, democracy has paved way for corruption and abuse of power. Few cabals in various African countries have hijacked the good intention of such beautiful system called democracy only to suit their evil agendas. If you look around the world today, the continent of Africa is believed to be the richest with lots of natural resources but lack leadership. African leaders prefer to steal money belonging to the people of their various countries and send them abroad for their own selfish interest while the people of their various countries keep suffering severe economic hardship which is bad. It is only the military that can forcefully drive such corrupt leaders out of office because doing it through a democratic process would not work in the continent of Africa, meaning that the Mali military removing a corrupt democratic leader is quite appropriate. It is a welcome news for the people of Mali. Again, poverty in the country (Mali) is huge while the democratic president and his associates live in affluence which is not acceptable by the people of Mali. Although the military government is not better but for assisting to remove a corrupt government is quite alright. In Mali before the military took over power, everywhere was filled with problems, the former democratic government created wealth for himself and his allies, leaving the people of Mali in abject poverty. They failed completely to address the issues of insurgency, unemployment and many more which is bad. Now that the military in Mali said that they would be in power for few years before handing over to a civilian government, Viewers Corner News team hope that the military keep to their promise and also make sure that they put the country (Mali) in a better shape so that the would be democratic president who may be elected in the near future would have a good starting point when he or she finally takes over from the military government.
