The word democracy is supposed to mean government of the people and for the people. But in Africa, it is the government of the cabals who think that they are untouchable and do not care about the welfare of the people of their various countries, which is sad. Now the military has taken over power in Gabon, which is nice. Though military takeover is not the best way in a civilized society, such a great move is the only way the president of Gabon, who had made the country his personal property, could be removed from office. A man who had been in power for so many years without reform plunged the citizens of his country into poverty. President Ali Bongo was a very corrupt leader who took directives from the West to govern his country, all in the name of allowing them to steal the natural resources of Gabon. Africa is among the richest continents in the world, but poverty is worst in all the countries of Africa because of irresponsible elderly leaders who have outlived their usefulness in office and have nothing anymore to offer the people of their various countries. Look at Nigeria, for example, a great country with the best brains but a leader with questionable character, certificate forgery, drug issues, corruption, place and date of birth not known, and many more, which is sad. Again, Africa shall get it right this time around; it is just a matter of time. The games are over for the cabals of Africa and their foreign masters. Either they step down peacefully and allow the new generation of leaders to take control of their various countries, or they are pushed out of office by force. The Viewers Corner News team would also use this opportunity to call on the United States of America and the West to start making plans on how to engage the new leaders of Africa as equal partners; if not, they are going to be pushed out of the new arrangement. So now is the time to begin negotiations. The use of force will not favour the West; only dialogue will, which is the best way to put things right.
