Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group said recently that it shot down an Israeli drone over the village of Ramieh, southern Lebanon. The group stated that the drone was shot down shortly after it crossed from Israel. The Israeli military said that a drone on a routine mission in northern Israel fell, without saying more on how the drone fell. They also said that the drone fell on Sunday not on Monday as the Hezbollah reported. Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader said last month that any Israeli drone that enters Lebanese airspace would be shot down by the group. Conflicts and tensions have increased between Israel and Hezbollah in recent weeks. Last week, Hezbollah launched anti-tank missiles at an Israeli armored vehicle near the border, Israel retaliated with artillery fire into southern Lebanon. The militant group said that the missile attack was retaliation for an Israeli airstrike near Damascus last month that killed two of its members.
