THE LAW COURT IN NIGERIA WHICH SENTENCED TWO INEC OFFICIALS TO 42 YEARS IN PRISON SHOULD HAVE MADE THE GOVERNOR’S JAIL TERM UP TO 30 YEARS.

Two INEC workers took bribe of about 360 million Naira and were jailed for 42 years but a governor who stole over seven billion Naira got only 12 years which we (Viewers Corner News team) regard as an unfair judgement. The governor should have received more jail terms for looting the treasury of his state than those two INEC workers. However, since the judgement has already been passed, there is nothing anyone can do about it but then the judges should have taken so many things into consideration before any guilty verdict is pronounced because if the judges had examined the issues properly, we (Viewers Corner News team) did not see any reason a governor who almost destroy his state should get lesser jail terms than those INEC officials who took about 360 million Naira bribe. It is not right or could it be that the judge compromised his or her position and gave a lesser sentence to the governor?
