Umar Farouq

The law court in Nigeria has asked ex-minister Umar Farouq to explain how over 720 billion naira under her care was spent.

The humanitarian ministry has not lived up to the expectations of the people of Nigeria since the ministry was created. Those appointed in the past as humanitarian affairs ministers could not carry out their duties properly; this is based on our findings. Recently, a high court judge in Nigeria asked ex-minister Umar Farouq to account for how over 720 billion naira was distributed to the poor people of Nigeria. A Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja, Nigeria learned that most times, the ministry gave out money to Nigerians, just like that, without proper documentation, which is so surprising to hear. Another point is that some dirty dealings might have been noticed; hence, the judge of the high court gave that order to the ex-minister of humanitarian affairs. Again, there are so many ministers who worked under ex-president Buhari’s government, including Buhari himself, who looted the treasury of Nigeria. So we are appealing to the government of Nigeria to call ex-president Buhari and other ex-ministers to explain how money kept in their care was spent. Doing so will bring back the already lost confidence among Nigerians. It would also bring good governance to the country. Nigeria as a country would achieve more if those who stole from the treasury of the country were brought to book.
