Information reaching Viewers Corner News recently from our correspondent in Lagos (Nigeria) revealed that the Lagos state government has closed down some places in the state because of noise pollution. We also gather that lots of people in the state are not pleased with the closure of those places, honestly the Lagos state government did quite well for taken such bold step in doing what is right for the people of the state. The problem is that lots of people across the country (Nigeria) because of ignorance do not know the terrible effects of noise pollution, somehow no one would blame them for reacting negatively about the closure of those places in the state (Lagos state). Again based on our (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) experience and what we know concerning this topic (Noise pollution), we would advise the Lagos state government and every other state government in the country (Nigeria) that would carry out such exercise of closing any facility in the future as a result of noise pollution to kindly create an advert in form of awareness campaign to reach the people of the country, letting them know the terrible effects of noise pollution and that the government is doing so for the best interest of the people. Again closing any facility is not done to hurt anyone or a particular group of people, somehow if this awareness campaign is created and carried out nicely, people would understand and follow suit.
THE LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT CLOSING DOWN SOME PLACES IN THE STATE IS QUITE APPROPRIATE AND SHOULD BE COMMENDED.
This has nothing to do with politics but saving the lives of the citizens of Nigeria because when any environment is noisy, such pollution could be very dangerous to one’s health in the long run. Therefore we are appealing to every state government in the country (Nigeria) to create more awareness campaign programs through the social media and other means available to reach the people of Nigeria, teaching them the terrible effects of noise pollution and how it can affect them health wise if it is not properly controlled.
