The long-term effect of whatever we do in life will remain with us forever, even when we are no longer there. The recent judgment passed by the judges at the election petition tribunal of Nigeria concerning presidential election matters was completely upside down. You do not need to be a lawyer or a judge to know that those judges who presided over the presidential election case compromised their positions to favour President Bola Tinubu. The worst aspect of their judgment centered on the abuse and humiliation of the constitution of Nigeria, which is supposed to be their guide in delivering their judgment. The constitution of Nigeria made it mandatory that whoever would be the president of Nigeria have 25% votes in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The constitution of Nigeria forbids anyone who forges certificates to vie for any position in the country. It forbids anyone with another country’s international passport to be the president of Nigeria. It forbids a drug lord from becoming president of Nigeria, no matter where or when that offense was committed. The constitution of Nigeria also made it clear that for anyone to lead Nigeria, his or her identity must be known to all Nigerians and many more. All these did not need to be interpreted, which the judges at the election petition tribunal of Nigeria are aware of, but they decided to bend the truth to favour President Bola Tinubu, who has too much negative baggage in his closet. We believe that huge sums of money might have been given to the judges, which they were unable to resist. These judges have brought shame to themselves and their families. They should be regarded as the worst judges in Nigeria. Even the judge who read the judgment was unable to read out some words without holding on for awhile. If he truly wrote the judgment and understood what he wrote as the truth, it would have flowed nicely when he was reading it out to Nigerians and the world, but because they compromised their positions, it becomes difficult for him to read out the judgment properly. Again, we would use this opportunity to plead with Nigerians who were hurt as a result of the recent manipulated presidential election judgment that there is one more huddle to go. The Labour Party should head to the Supreme Court of Nigeria before concluding that it is over. The law of Nigeria should be followed until all options are utilized. Again, the constitution of Nigeria has been abused and disgraced before the whole world by some corrupt judges in Nigeria, which is so sad.
