THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL (ICC) HAS NAMED VIRAT KOHLI, THE CRICKETER OF THE YEAR 2017 AND A ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL (ODI) CRICKETER OF THE YEAR. CONGRATULATIONS.

The 29 year old India captain, Virat Kohli has been named by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Cricketer of the Year for 2017. He also won one-day international (ODI) Cricketer of the Year and he was picked by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to captain the Test and ODI Teams of the Year. Voters of the award included members of the media, commentators and former players from the 12 test playing countries. The players’ performances were evaluated during the period of September 21, 2016 to December 31, 2017. Virat Kohli scored 2203 Test runs at 77.80 (eight hundreds), 1818 ODI runs at 82.63 (seven hundreds), and 299 T20I runs at a strike rate of 153 in the qualification period from September 21, 2016 to December 31, 2017. This is the second time in succession that an Indian won the overall cricketer of the year award. Last year (2017), Ravichandran Ashwin won ICC cricketer of the year.
