James Ibori, the former governor of Delta state who returned recently after serving some years in a London prison is naturally a good man according to those that are very close to him but then during his tenure as the governor of Delta state (Nigeria), he took things for granted. Like they say once an individual starts swimming in wealth or power, he or she does not care anymore about what comes next because the said individual would always think that with the wealth in his possession, he would always overcome any obstacle that may come his way. This means when such individual crosses peoples part, he or she does not care because the wealth he has would get him out. This is exactly what happened to Mr James Ibori (the former governor of Delta state, Nigeria). He took things for granted in the past and did not do his homework properly which landed him into trouble. In Nigeria today, there are lots of politicians like James Ibori who committed similar crimes or even worst crimes than him but were able to cover their tracks properly and that is why law has not been able to get them. However we assume that Mr James Ibori must have learned his lessons and would be a better person free from fraudulent practices. Again as for whether he would join politics as alleged depends on what the constitution of Nigeria say about such convicted individual. If the constitution of Nigeria says he has to participate in politics then so be it, therefore no one would stop him from doing so but the big question here is this, would he ever be trusted again in Nigeria as a politician? We leave the Nigerian people to answer this question on their own.
