THE FORMER FINANCE MINISTER, ESTHER NENADI USMAN HAS ALLEGEDLY RETURNED SOME MILLIONS OF NAIRA AS PART OF THE MONEY SHE CORNERED FOR HERSELF ILLEGALLY.

This is nice and very encouraging to hear that the former finance minister of Nigeria, Esther Nenadi Usman has allegedly returned up to 23 million Naira as part of 2.5 billion Naira she received through the usual corrupt means during ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. She did well and should be commended for returning such huge amount of money (23 million Naira) to the federal government of Nigeria. This shows that as a woman, she still have conscience to know what is right and what is wrong. Now our reason for commending her effort in returning this money back to the government of Nigeria is that much stress was not encountered by the government in recovering this loot. Assuming she decided not to return the money and choose to go to court knowing fully well that she took the money, this may cause unnecessary delays in the court process that may last for a longtime which may at the end waste tax payers money and equally dent her reputation in a more terrible way than it is at the moment. Again if it were some politicians, they would prefer to go to court even when it is clear that they stole the money just like we have seen today in the country’s (Nigeria) cases involving some politicians, athough the evidence against them has already been presented to the court of law which is incriminating that they stole some money from the federal government. Though courts have not given any verdict on those cases but still those politicians involved would be denying that they never took any money from the government but at the end, the court would most probably deliver a guilt verdict based on the evidence against them. We (Viewers corner) regard this as indiscipline and we suggested in the past to those politicians who have skeletons in their cupboards to come out clean and quietly return the money they stole back to the federal government of Nigeria. Also render apology to the Nigerian people for causing severe pains to them because of their corrupt practices, selfishness, greed and the I don’t care attitude they played on the citizens of Nigeria but they refused, instead they prefer to go to court and prove that they never stole or declared assets falsely. We are appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to allow the former finance minister of Nigeria who has returned the money she collected illegally during ex-president Goodluck Jonathan administration to go free since she accepted her mistakes by returning such huge amount of money (23 million Naira). We also plead with other politicians who may be in this category to do the same by returning the money they looted back to the federal government of Nigeria so that president Buhari and his administration would start implementing policies immediately.
