Viewers Corner’s correspondents visited the Federal Secretariat in Aba Road, Portharcourt, Rivers State (Nigeria) recently, they revealed to us that the environment of the Federal Secretariat in Portharcourt (Rivers State, Nigeria) is so untidy, the local canteen within the premise of the Federal Secretariat is so
dirty and some officers of the immigration department were seen eaten at the dirty local canteen.
What Viewers Corner is trying to express here is that a standard procedure be set up where local restaurant owners should operate in a more hygienic manner. Again, we should always remember that as human beings, most diseases that affect us depend on the things we consume right into our system. Therefore, we should be more careful on what we eat and the environment where we purchase our cooked meals.
Another second part is that Viewers Corner’s correspondents witnessed an act of indiscipline being committed by some officers of the immigration department, the fence built as a protective wall is used as a toilet where most people urinate and this is within the premise of the Federal Secretariat building. When visitors are entering or leaving the compound, the type of offensive odour being perceived is so terrible even the toilet in the building is a manual type of toilet. This means that when a visitor or a staff urinates in that dirty toilet, he has to personally pour water to flush it down which makes the floor of the toilet so nasty to look. This is too bad or could it be that all the senior officers do not care about the welfare of their staff in the Portharcourt Federal Secretariat? Wise saying teaches us that health is wealth, therefore, Viewers Corner is appealing to the Federal government to instruct the controller of the building or the agency responsible for keeping the building clean to please find solution concerning this situation in the Portharcourt Federal Secretariat.
The most annoying part is that some of the workers Viewers Corner’s correspondents saw were urinating by the building’s fence instead of using the manual toilet inside the building. Our correspondents spoke to one immigration officer who promised to lay our complain to the controller so that proper care could be taken, we hope that this officer keeps to her promise by making sure that people do not urinate near the building fence again.
Viewers Corner care so much about the welfare of every citizen world wide and we will do everything humanly possible to report and advise the general public on good behavioural pattern which would prolong their lives on earth.
