The federal government of Nigeria’s rejection of negotiating with terrorists who kidnapped dozens of innocent Nigerians in the northern part of Nigeria is a welcomed development.

This is a high-profile issue, most probably involving some big names in the northern part of Nigeria just to create problems for the federal government of Nigeria, which is so sad. When the Viewers Corner News team heard of the demands allegedly made by the kidnappers before they could release those they kidnapped, their demands were so huge and insane. How can they ask the federal government of Nigeria to give them 40 trillion naira, 11 Hilux vans, and 150 motorcycles, as alleged? We believe that no functional government anywhere in the world can agree to sit at a table to negotiate with such a group of people who have no sympathy for human beings. So the decision of the federal government of Nigeria not to negotiate with those terrorists is highly welcomed. We would also use this opportunity to plead with leaders in the northern part of Nigeria to understand that those kidnapping issues are seriously affecting that region of Nigeria. Therefore, it is time for them to put their houses in order for peace to reign. Northern Nigeria has been controlling the affairs of Nigeria for so many years, yet the poverty rate in that region of Nigeria is the worst when compared to other regions in the country. This is based on our findings. Look at the kidnapping issues going on in Nigeria. Most of these ugly incidents are happening in the northern part of Nigeria, which is so sad, and now the kidnappers want the federal government of Nigeria to pay them before releasing those they kidnapped in the northern part of Nigeria. Such demands are uncalled for and should be seen as dead on arrival.
