THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA ALLEGEDLY SAID THAT ELECTRICITY BILLS SHOULD NOT BE PAID IF PREPAID METERS ARE NOT INSTALLED IN HOUSES ACROSS NIGERIA.

People in various states across Nigeria are paying electricity bills more than required because most houses in Nigeria have no prepaid meters, making it very easy for the Electricity Distribution Companies (Discos) to scam their customers. They sit in their offices and write whatever bills they like and send to Nigerians to pay which is bad. Our (Viewers Corner News team) advice to tenants in Nigeria who have no prepaid meters is this; Tenants should form different group within their area and write a letter directly to Mr Babatunde Fashola who is the minister in-charge of this ministry in Nigeria, calling the attention of the federal government of Nigeria concerning what you all are passing through in the hands of the Electricity Distribution Companies (Discos) in your areas, or go to the federal government’s website and leave a complaint there, most definitely help shall come. These are little things that matters so much, light is life which everyone in Nigeria deserves to have on daily basis. You have to fight for your right before it can be giving to you.
In some areas today in Nigeria, tenants are passing through hardship paying for light bills which they never consumed because they have no prepaid meters installed in their homes and no one is talking about it. Normally it is the duty of the owner of the house to have prepaid meter installed in the house before renting it out. Please help the federal government of Nigeria to help you too by taking a bold step on this issue. Some of those our (Viewers Corner News team) correspondent spoke with in Delta state (Nigeria) complained bitterly on how they are paying huge sum of money on electricity bills on monthly basis because the house owners refused to install prepaid meters. Honestly, this is not right, these are tenants who are managing to survive and should not put all their earnings into paying electricity bills and on this note, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the federal government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to kindly introduce a task force which would see to this issue. Somehow we (Viewers Corner News team) understand the fears of the tenants for not reporting what they are passing through in the hands of the Electricity Distribution Companies (Discos) and the owners of the houses they live in but then let the federal government of Nigeria come to your aid which can only be possible when you complain to the authority. It is your right to do so. Please go for it now.
