THE EX-DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE, IYILA OMISORE HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION (EFCC).

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) informed us that Iyiola-Omisore, the former deputy governor of Osun state has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Iyiola Omisore who was accused of collecting N1.3 billion from Sambo Dasuki (the former National Adviser to the ex-President Goodluck Jonathan) between June and November, 2014 through three firms allegedly owned by him was declared wanted by the anti-graft commission when he refused to honour the EFCC invitation requesting him to come and make clarification on the ongoing investigation. He was arrested on Sunday in his Abuja home and taken to EFCC custody for questioning. Viewers Corner News also gathered that the money which was moved from the office of national security adviser was firstly paid into the accounts of firms linked to a former Defence Minister, Musiliu Obanikoro and his sons before being transferred to the company linked to Iyiola Omisore. Also last week, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) froze the five bank accounts linked to Iyiola Omisore, Obanikoro and his two sons in order to pave way for his prosecution.
Iyiola Omisore contested for Osun state governorship election in August 2014 but lost to Mr. Rauf Aregbesola (the current governor of Osun state).
