Viewers Corner News correspondent in Ankara gathered that the European Union has launched a 348 million-euro ($391 million) aid project to help about one million refugees in Turkey. According to the information, the refugees would be given a debit cards which they will be using to buy their foods and pay for other basic needs. Money would be paying into the card every month depending on the needs and size of each family. This aid program which is considered as the European Union’s largest humanitarian program was launched on Monday and it is part of the agreement European Union had with Turkey so that Turkey will stop the flow of migrants to Europe. EU agreed to provide Turkey a total of 3 billion euros in 2016 and 2017 to help Turkey support Syrian migrants which will help stop migrants from travelling to Europe.
The program will be administered by the World Food Program with the help of the Turkish Red Crescent, the Turkish crisis management agency and the Turkish ministry for family and social policy.
