Viewers Corner learnt that the European Union has extended its economic sanctions against Russia on Monday, December 21, 2015. According to our source, the European Council which comprises of all 28 European Union member states agreed on this sanctions’ extension because the peace accords which was agreed on by France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia will not be implemented as expected by the end of this year. Russia is required by the European Union to use her influence with the rebels in Ukraine to ensure that the ceasefire holds.
In 2014, Russia vehemently opposed the European Union’s agreement that wants the Ukraine’s President, Viktor Yanukovych to step down.
