THE EUROPEAN UNION HAS EXTENDED IRAN’S SANCTIONS UNTIL APRIL 2019 OVER HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

On Thursday, April 12, 2018, the Council of the European Union extended Iran’s sanctions until April 2019 over human rights violations. The sanctions were first imposed against Iran by the European Union in 2011. These sanctions includes travel restrictions, frozen of assets against one entity and 82 people, export ban on equipment which the country might used for internal repression and equipment for monitoring telecommunications. President Donald Trump of United States has criticized the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers. He (Donald Trump) threatened to withdraw from a 2015 deal that lifted sanctions against Iran. In 2015,  the United States, China, Russia, France, Germany and Britain agreed to suspend sanctions against Iran in exchange for the country (Iran) to stop its nuclear program.
