Information reaching us from our correspondent in Portharcourt (Nigeria) revealed that since the beginning of January 2016, a damaged transformer in the Eligboro area of Portharcourt (Rivers state) which is the main source of power supply to the area has not been fixed and as a result of that, people in that area of Portharcourt have been living in darkness and the power authority in Portharcourt are not doing anything to fix the problem, which is wrong. Honestly, not fixing the damaged transformer has caused noise pollution in the area because almost everyone is using different sorts of loud generators and when an environment is very loud like we have seen in the Eligboro area of Portharcourt, it can cause lots of health problems and the comfort of the people living in that area are being denied and the power authority is also losing revenues which is not right.
We (Viewers Corner) are appealing that the damaged transformer in Eligboro area of Portharcourt be fixed and also other areas of the city so that the comfort of the people can be restored.
