Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Abuja learnt that on Thursday, January 21, 2016, Chief Olisa Metuh ( the Peoples Democratic Party National Publicity Secretary) was docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Abuja High Court in Maitama on a two-count charge alleging destruction of evidence. The anti-graft agency alleged that Chief Metuh attempted to chew a confessional statement he made under caution while undergoing interrogation but the embattled PDP National Publicity Secretary who was brought to the court again in handcuffs by the prison officials denied the allegation against him before the court. Justice Ishaq Bello of the Abuja High Court adjourned Olisa Metuh’s bail hearing application till Monday, January 25, 2016.
It will be recalled that Olisa Metuh was granted bail for N400 million by Justice Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja (Nigeria) on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 on seven-count criminal charge of receiving 400 million Naira from Sambo Dasuki which is alleged to be part of the $2.1 billion fund allocated for arms procurement during the administration of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.
