Bobi Wine's supporters protest

THE DEATH TOLL FROM PROTESTS IN UGANDA OVER THE ARREST OF UGANDAN OPPOSITION PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL BOBI WINE REACHED 37.

Our (Viewers Corner News) correspondent in Kampala (Uganda) reported that the death toll from the protests over the arrest of Ugandan presidential hopeful, Bobi Wine has reached 37. The supporters of Bobi Wine protested his arrest, called for his release and an end to police brutality. Bobi Wine was arrested after being accused of flouting COVID-19 guidelines which require presidential candidates to address less than 200 people. The 38-year-old Bobbi Wine captured the heart of Ugandan people for demanding that President Museveni should retire after being in power for 36 years. About 350 people were arrested in Kampala and this is the country’s worst unrest in a decade. There were heavy presence of military and police in Kampala. General Elly Tumwine (Ugandan Security minister) warned the protesters that they would be dealt with if they continue protesting. President Museveni would address the nation on Sunday, 22 November 2020.
