Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state is using the money meant to develop and uplift the poor people of his state recklessly. Most traditional rulers in Ebonyi state are gaining so much from governor David Umahi, so anything he tells them, they obey. Those traditional rulers placing curses on whoever would challenge governor David Umahi’s senatorial race should understand that democracy is the government of the people. A situation where all individuals have equal opportunity to vie for a political position. The Viewers Corner News team is urging traditional rulers in Ebonyi state to be guided and take note of this simple fact. Democracy is not for governor David Umahi and his family alone. Anyone from Ebonyi state who believes that he would use the available resources of Ebonyi state to create a better living condition for the people of Ebonyi state has the right to contest for the senatorial seat. It is so surprising to hear that some traditional rulers in Ebonyi state would go this far as to place curses on whoever would contest the senatorial seat against Governor David Umahi. We are calling on the people of Ebonyi state especially those from governor David Umahi’s senatorial zone to ignore the curse placed by those traditional rulers. Senatorial candidates should go ahead with their campaigns because democracy is for all. Governor David Umahi has not done well to warrant him going for a senatorial job. We know Governor David Umahi to be a very corrupt leader. He is among the worst governors in Nigeria. The Viewers Corner News team is calling on other senatorial candidates who won their political party’s tickets, who are also from the same zone as governor David Umahi to work hard so that they can defeat governor David Umahi and his corrupt associates. We believe that governor David Umahi is scared, that if he does not win the senatorial race, his atrocities as a governor would catch up with him. This is the reason he is involving the traditional rulers to put fear into the minds of the people of Ebonyi state. However, the curse placed by traditional rulers as alleged, shall not work because democracy is free for all and no senatorial candidate from another political party in the state is telling governor David Umahi not to contest for the race. Again, we are appealing to the people of Ebonyi state to always understand that the future of their family and those yet unborn is what they should fight for by voting for the right candidates to lead them in 2023.
