The Viewers Corner News team is calling on all voters in various African countries to retire all those elderly leaders who come every four years to contest, manipulate and win elections in their countries. These groups of leaders have nothing to offer the people of their various countries. The only way to take them out of office is by coming out in large numbers to cast votes against them during elections. Leaders with wisdom, ability, and foresight should be elected to manage the resources of the continent (Africa). In Nigeria, the ruling political party (APC), during their campaigns, promised the people of Nigeria so many things. Among them was to end medical tourism, a situation where leaders and government officials travel abroad for medical treatment, but today that aspect of the promise has not been fulfilled. The president of Nigeria and top government officials still travel to England and other countries for medical treatment, which is bad. Nigeria, as a country with huge natural resources and manpower, can not provide good hospitals that can treat the president of the country, which is so appalling. This is a leadership failure. In Ghana, not too long ago, new born babies and their mothers were seen sleeping on the floor of a hospital, which is so shameful, but the government of Ghana allegedly spent billions of dollars building a cathedral. Somehow, there is nothing wrong with building a cathedral with a huge amount of money, but it should be done when every aspect of the economy is working properly. All these are leadership failures and should be addressed as soon as possible. In Uganda, the government gave out millions of dollars to lawmakers to buy new cars. This happens all the time. A country where unemployment has reached an alarming level and the government has no clue on how to get such pressing issues sorted out. Also, in Uganda, the government is planning to increase the number of lawmakers and this will cost the country millions, if not billions, of dollars to maintain the lawmakers. The Viewers Corner News team calls this a misplacement of priority. President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, who has refused to step down from office, even when it was alleged that he lost the last presidential election, has turned the economy of Uganda into a one-man business, where only a few associates who support him and his family benefit from such a system. In Zambia, corruption is huge, but now that the opposition leader has defeated the former leader in the presidential election with promises of reforms and creating jobs for the people of the country, the Viewers Corner News team is hoping that he keeps to his words. The people of Zambia are waiting anxiously to see what steps the new president of the country will take to rebuild the already damaged economy. The reason countries in Africa are not moving forward is as a result of leadership failure. Those elected to manage the resources of their various countries in Africa are not knowledgeable enough to get the job done properly. The Viewers Corner News team will again use this opportunity to plead with voters in various countries on the continent of Africa to always vote for leaders with wisdom, ability, and foresight. These groups of individuals are in various countries in Africa. Bring them forward to take control of the resources of your countries and see progress flourish on the continent of Africa.
