THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE HAS EXPRESSED CONCERN ON PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S DEATH PENALTY ON DRUG DEALERS.

President Donald Trump recently unveiled his plan of placing death penalty on drug dealers. The President who vowed to create a drug-free generation while speaking in Manchester, New Hampshire, stated that the country must be tough with drug dealers by imposing death penalty on anyone found guilty in order to eradicate opiod epidemic in the United States. Meanwhile, the Council of Europe has expressed concern on Donald Trump’s proposal. The Council released statement on Wednesday, stating that such practice (death penalty) is inhuman and degrading, and has not proven to be an effective deterrent. In 2016, it was reported that Opiods killed over 42,000 people in the United States.
