THE CLOSURE OF NIGERIA’S BORDERS IS GOOD BECAUSE SOME DUBIOUS NIGERIAN BUSINESSMEN AND THEIR OVERSEA COUNTERPARTS HAVE TURNED THE COUNTRY INTO A DUMPING GROUND.

This is time for Nigeria’s neighbours especially the Republic of Benin to engage in productive ventures and stop relying on imported goods from Europe, Asia and the USA which would later find their ways to Nigeria. Any country that does not control her borders properly and the imports of various items would end up becoming a nation without direction. It is painful to see African countries appealing to Nigeria to open her closed borders so that imported goods in those countries can come into Nigeria. It is because these countries rely solely on imported goods to survive which is not the best method to manage any economy, this is terrible. This is a wake up call for Republic of Benin and other West African countries to start diversifying. Do not put all your hope on imported goods to keep the economy of your country going. Only essential commodities which can not be produced in the country should be imported which is the best way forward for any country that wants to grow her economy. In our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion, closing the borders is the best way to control harmful goods and other illegal activities from entering the country (Nigeria). Such action by Nigerian government would also grow the economy of the country. Things may be difficult for the country (Nigeria) at the moment, but as time goes on, it would normalize and the people of Nigeria would start enjoying the benefits.
