The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, sounded like a guy who is prepared to do his job without fear or favour. But can he honestly do it?

Based on what the Viewers Corner News team has seen of the activities of Mr. Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, concerning ex-governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and the case tied around his neck, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria and his agency are on point. Their job so far looks good. Ex-governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is a very corrupt man who almost emptied the treasury of Kogi State, which is sad. For years, ex-governor Yahaya Bello could not pay workers salaries and pensioner allowances, but he has built for himself mansions with Kogi state money. He also paid his children’s school fees in advance, which cost millions of naira, using Kogi state money to achieve that, while the people of Kogi state suffer in abject poverty. We are appealing to Mr. Ola Olukoyede and his agency to also go after other ex-governors in Nigeria who stole from the treasury of their various states and bring them to face trial. Doing so will give Nigerians assurance that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria knows exactly what the agency is set out to achieve.
