The Aviation Minister of Nigeria, Mr. Hadi Abubakar Sirika, announced that ten firefighting vehicles were purchased for airports in Nigeria at a cost of over twelve billion Naira.

The Viewers Corner News team is concerned about the cost of this transaction and is urging the Aviation Minister to be more cost-effective in his approach. We suggest that he should have gone directly to an approved dealer for firefighting vehicles to obtain a better deal. In our opinion, the cost of twelve billion Naira for this project is exorbitant, which would mean that each firefighting vehicle would have cost 1.2 billion Naira. This amount is unprecedented, and considering the amount of money Nigeria has borrowed from the international community, it is unwise to add an additional cost to the country’s burden.

We call on all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to speak up and let the Aviation Minister know that the price he paid for only ten firefighting vehicles is unrealistic. It is time to build a new Nigeria where transparency and accountability are upheld in all aspects of leadership. The era of manipulation is long gone, and the youth of Nigeria are ready to develop their country into a place where all Nigerians can be proud to call their own.
