Aung San Suu Kyi is a great woman who has always been on house arrest for so many years, she has been fighting for the total freedom of all the citizens of Myanmar which the military juntas in Myanmar does not want her to do but the majority of the people of Myanmar like her and what she stands for. In the just concluded election of Myanmar which her party, the National League for Democracy (N.L.D) took part, a big surprise came out and her party won the election big time. This means that she and her party will form the government that will lead the country, this is very nice. Viewers Corner’s correspondent also gathered that the constitution of the country which was in use before her party won the election bars her from becoming the President of the country, this is very terrible and most probably the constitution was drafted by the military juntas who never wanted her to lead the country but now there is nothing they can do, she must lead the country. Again, Aung San Suu Kyi said that the constitution of her country (Myanmar) will be amended later when a government has been formed and that a ceremonial President for the country (Myanmar) will be appointed in due cause.
She is a great woman and has won the heart of Viewers Corner and would always remain one of our favorites in the world for believing in the power of democracy which she fought for to make sure that democratic rule would be implemented in her country Myanmar.
