Nigerians both at home and abroad reacted to the statement made some days ago by Mr. Abubakar Malami, (the Attorney General of the Federation of Nigeria), on the issue of the federal government imposing a state of emergency in Anambra state. The Viewers Corner News team applauds Nigerians for speaking the truth on this issue. Like we keep on saying, it is only the truth that can save Nigeria, which is why the Viewers Corner News team is encouraging Nigerians to keep on speaking. Knowing the truth and saying it will help in uniting the people of Nigeria. Mr. Abubakar Malami’s statement on the federal government imposing a state of emergency in Anambra state is among the most hopeless, careless, and reckless statements coming from someone who claimed to know the law. Such a statement is so unfortunate and this brings us to the issue of leadership in Nigeria. With such a man in the position of authority, how do you expect Nigeria to unite and move forward? Mr. Abubakar Malami, who is the Attorney General of the federation of Nigeria, should be seen as one of those misleading President Buhari’s administration which is the truth, take it or leave it. If Nigerians look closely, they will notice that the insecurity problems in some parts of the north are worse than those in the south-east. Even some lawmakers at the National Assembly based on our findings can not travel freely to their local government because of the kidnapping and killings going on in that part of the country. Up till today, no state of emergency has been suggested in any part of the north, but Mr. Abubakar Malami is considering imposing a state of emergency in Anambra state. Again, statements like this will continue to bring anger out of most people across Nigeria, hence there are lots of issues of insecurity. The Viewers Corner News team believe that President Buhari is not in support of a state of emergency in Anambra state, which is nice. The Viewers Corner News team will continue to plead with leaders and the would be leaders of Nigeria to always do their home work properly before appointing people to positions of authority because if those who are not qualified to head a position are appointed to various offices, then it becomes very difficult for such individuals to handle challenges. This is why Nigeria is not moving forward. Those who would have worked to make Nigeria great are not given the opportunity to lead the country, but those without much knowledge of leadership are appointed, which is bad. For Nigeria as a country to grow and move forward, qualified individuals should be appointed to positions of authority in the country.
