Theodore Orji

THE ALLEGED ARREST OF EX-GOVERNOR THEODORE ORJI OF ABIA STATE BY EFCC OVER A THEFT OF ABOUT 521 BILLION NAIRA IS A WELCOME NEWS.

Abia state in Nigeria, where the Viewers Corner News team has written articles concerning the level of corruption in that state, has not been fortunate enough to have good leaders who would govern the state nicely. Recently, the Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja revealed to us that ex-governor Theodore Orji was arrested and is being quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria over a theft of about 521 billion Naira state money which he allegedly looted from the treasury of Abia state while in office as the governor of the state. It was also revealed that his son, Mr. Chinedu Orji, was also being quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria. It means that the ex-governor, Theodore Orji, and his son, Mr. Chinedu, worked as a team to swindle Abia state. About 521 billion naira allegedly looted from the Abia state treasury is too huge to be ignored. If this 521 billion Naira allegedly looted by ex-governor Theodore Orji was properly invested in Abia state, by now poverty in that state would have been history. This is a state that has been owing pensioners and workers’ salaries for years, starting from when ex-governor Theodore Orji was leading the state. The infrastructure in Abia state is almost at a zero point, but an ex-governor who the Abia state masses elected to lead them and put things right had the courage to loot the treasury of the state to a zero point during his tenure. The Viewers Corner News team would use this opportunity to plead with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria to pursue this case to a conclusive end. If this man and his son are found guilty, they should be made to serve a very long prison term for destroying the lives of the people of Abia state through looting.
