THE 71 YEAR OLD RAM NATH KOVIND HAS BEEN SWORN IN AS INDIA’S 14TH PRESIDENT, CONGRATULATIONS.

On Tuesday, 25 July 2017, India sworn in Ram Nath Kovind (71 years old) as the country’s new president. Ram Nath Kovind who is India’s 14th president is the first member of a powerful Hindu nationalist movement to assume the highest public office in the country. The new president, Kovind is also a long-time member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (a grassroot movement that helped to launch Narendra Modi’s political career). India’s president mostly performs ceremonial functions while prime minister holds executive power. Congratulations to Ram Nath Kovind.
