Pope Francis has selected Monsignor Daniel Garcia (currently an auxiliary bishop in Texas) to be the next bishop of Monterey (California). He (Monsignor Daniel Garcia) is to replace late Bishop Richard John Garcia who died on July 11, 2018.
Monsignor Daniel Garcia was consecrated an auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Austin on March 3, 2015.
