SUDAN HAS SWORN IN ITS FIRST CABINET SINCE DICTATOR OMAR AL-BASHIR WAS OUSTED.

Our correspondent reported that Sudan has sworn in its first cabinet since April the autocratic leader, Omar al-Bashir was ousted in a military coup following mass protests. Asmaa Abdalla, Sudan’s first woman foreign minister, alongside with three other women and Ibrahim Elbadawi (former World Bank economist and now Sudan’s Finance Minister) are among the 18 members of the cabinet. According to the report, the swearing in ceremony took place before Babaker Abbas (the country’s chief judge), Abdallah Hamdok (new prime minister) and General Abdel-Fattah Burhan (head of the sovereign council). The prime minister, Abdallah Hamdok is still negotiating with the pro-democracy movement over the last two ministerial posts to complete his 20-member Cabinet.
