STEVEN GERRARD (THE FORMER LIVERPOOL AND ENGLAND CAPTAIN) ANNOUNCED THAT HE IS RETIRING FROM PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL.

The 36-year-old former Liverpool  and England captain, steven Gerrard announced on Thursday that he is retiring from playing professional football on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Gerrard who made 710 appearances for Liverpool has spent 17 years at Liverpool (his home-town club). He spent 12 years as Liverpool captain and won seven major honours including the 2005 Champions League. He also won two FA Cups, three League Cups, UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the Community Shield. For England, Gerrard made 114 appearances and scored 21 international goals. He captained England at the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup and appeared at six major tournaments.
