President Maithripala Sirisena of Sri Lanka in a statement stated that any face covering that made it impossible to identify individuals in a way that threatens national security is banned in Sri Lanka. The ban takes effect on Monday, 29 April 2019. Sri Lanka is still on high alert after the attacks, with warnings that more attacks could happen.
