The South is requesting that they produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023. It means that such a position should be zoned to the south, which various groups in the northern part of Nigeria have rejected completely, as alleged. If Nigeria is managed nicely, where government of inclusion is being practised, then people from the south would not have demanded such. But in a situation where attention is given to one particular tribe more than others, then the rest would feel that they are being left behind. It is clear that the south is not being treated fairly in the same way their northern counterparts is being treated. Look at kidnapping and banditry in the northern part of Nigeria. Some government officials were seen taking pictures with those criminals causing problems in that part of the country and no arrest has been made so far. Instead, they would negotiate with those bandits by paying them ransom and, at the same time, granting them amnesty. In the south, where oil is produced, how many southerners have oil blocs? But in the northern part of the country, the story is different. Injustice in the country has led the people from the south and the middle belt region to start demanding what they believe is their right.
If all the people of Nigeria were treated equally, there would be no need for agitation. To end all these troubling issues in the country, the federal government of Nigeria should engage everyone through dialogue, which is the only way matters of this sort can be resolved amicably.
