SOME SENATORS IN NIGERIA ARE SAYING THAT PRESIDENT BUHARI’S SYSTEM OF GOING AFTER THOSE THAT ALLEGEDLY LOOTED NIGERIAN TREASURY WOULD SCARE BOTH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS FROM INVESTING THEIR MONEY INTO THE COUNTRY, WE DISAGREE WITH THOSE SENATORS.

Democracy is about openness and as a senator representing your senatorial district, if you receive huge amount of money from the federal government of Nigeria assuming to create better living conditions for the people of your area and you decide to pocket or direct it to something else instead of using it for the purpose for which the fund was meant for, any senator who does that has committed a sin and an offence against his God and his people too. Therefore we advise that when a fund is earmarked for a project in an area, we should try and use it as directed by the federal government of Nigeria. Any senator who wants to invest in any business in Nigeria can save part of his or her salary and carry out an investment as it pleases him/her. All the senators in Nigeria are well paid or they could ask the bank for a loan assuming they want to invest in any business of their choice in the country (Nigeria), that is if the constitution of the country permits them to do so and at the same time run the affairs of the country. Any international investor who have good intention to do business in the country (Nigeria) and pass through the right channel would not have any problem to worry about because the law of the country (Nigeria) would always protect them nicely. It is only when the investor is planning to take a shortcut that such investor would have much to be worried about. During ex-president Obasanjo’s government, he fought corruption quietly by retrieving some looted funds which many Nigerians did not know about, he did that very nicely and quietly too based on the information Viewers Corner News team gathered but still it did not stop those corrupt Nigerian politicians from carrying out their stealing habit. This is why president Buhari’s government would have to apply this method his government is using at the moment to go after anyone that belongs to this group, if ex-president Obasanjo had done what president Buhari is doing at the moment then Nigeria would have been better by now perhaps someone like president Goodluck Jonathan would not have been the president of Nigeria which means that a more careful approach would have been used by ex-president Obasanjo to get someone more capable and qualified to lead the country after him, this is exactly the point. It was when ex-president Goodluck Jonathan took over the affairs of the country (Nigeria), that corruption became worst. The senators that are facing trials now at the tribunal/court including some currently serving the country could be the ones that are very scared of president Buhari’s method of fighting corruption because they may have lots of skeletons in their cupboards and could be the next target.
Viewers Corner News and the advisory team applauds president Buhari’s system of fighting corruption in Nigeria, he has also received huge praises from the international community. The only thing we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing for him to do right now is to review his economic policies and see which one meets the urgent needs of the people of Nigeria because the hardship is hitting them so badly but on corruption, he is doing a good job. Again we (Viewers Corner News team) would use this opportunity to appeal to some lawyers and judges in Nigeria to kindly be more straightforward, honest, dedicated and sincere in the fight against corruption because the fight is for both the present and future generation of the country (Nigeria). Please let there be no delay in court proceedings just to frustrate the trials, let us all be upright and make the country a great place to live without any form of manipulations as we have recorded in the past. Let us have a good beginning starting from now and make something great out of every beautiful opportunity that comes our way, certainly not through corruption or manipulation of any kind.
