Some big names in the country (Nigeria) who have no means of stealing money anymore from the treasury of Nigeria to finance their expensive life styles are complaining bitterly more than the ordinary Nigerians. They said that during ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, his budget was about four trillion Naira and there were enough foods and money to eat and play around. Now president Buhari’s budget is about six trillion Naira, still there are lots of hunger in the country (Nigeria), no food and money to eat and play around. To an extent that is correct, things are extremely very hard in the country (Nigeria) right now. President Buhari and his government should do something about it because the rate at which things are going, it does not say well of a great leadership party like APC/president Buhari’s government whom majority in Nigeria believed were sent by God to bring the country (Nigeria) out of bondage from the leadership of Peoples Democratic (P.D.P) Party of Nigeria. Having said this, we should also examine properly how about four trillion Naira under president Goodluck Jonathan was used and there was no hunger as some people claimed which is not correct. Under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, there were no clear economic plans for the country, all they were doing then was borrow money to import food and other commodities that were not needed in the country (Nigeria). Such practice would hurt the country in the long run which makes it a terrible system of running a government and such system would never bring growth and development in the country (Nigeria). We should also not forget that most projects under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan were never executed, the funds earmarked for vital projects in Nigeria as at that time were shared among party members in the country and at the end some of those party members based on our (Viewers Corner News team) findings used their own share of the looted money to import certain items to Nigeria instead of using the fund for what it was meant for which would have benefited Nigerians more. Sincerely no nation can grow or develop her economy by importing goods that may not be necessary which the country herself can easily produce and most of these imported goods were substandard. Again no country anywhere in the world can be self-reliance with such method in place, we should also remember that the past government opened the treasury of Nigeria to all the big names in the country which gave way to looting and if such practice was allowed to continue, it would get to a point where the country may never be able to feed her citizens anymore most especially now that the price of petroleum products in the world market which is the main source of income to the federal government of Nigeria has dropped so drastically but president Buhari’s administration as we (Viewers Corner News team) have investigated does not want such system practiced by ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to continue because it would hurt the economy of the country (Nigeria) in a terrible manner.
First president Buhari’s government would want to eradicate corruption in the country or reduce it to the lowest level and at the same time make Nigeria self-reliance.The country (Nigeria) also would not be used as a dumping ground for all sorts of harmful and substandard commodities. It is true that the economy of the country (Nigeria) is facing serious problems at the moment, we believe that in the long run it would be good based on our analysis of the Nigerian economy. The only missing link here is that president Buhari and his government are not doing enough to inform the Nigerian people on the progress made so far and also the way forward for the country. Normally in a democratic system of government, openness should be the key word which is lacking in president Buhari’s government. The Nigerian people overwhelmingly voted for president Buhari and his government because they believed that his government would bring them out of poverty but right now he is not doing enough to explain to the Nigeria public his vision for the future. However we assumed that the minister in-charge of this division is not knowledgeable enough to handle this aspect properly or it could also be that there are no proper coordination within president Buhari’s government. However we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to president Buhari and his government to get closer to the people of Nigeria and always let them know which direction the economy of Nigeria is heading because as it is now, lots of people in the country do not know whether Buhari and his government would be able to deliver nicely as they promised during the election campaign. All these thoughts made some Nigerians to start believing that ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s government may be better which is wrong. Please do your homework properly so that the people of Nigeria can have enough food to eat and also get other necessary things of life to keep them going nicely.
