SLASHING SALARIES OF NIGERIAN WORKERS EARNING ABOVE THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE MAY NOT BE THE BEST OPTION.

The new minimum wage which the federal government of Nigeria is trying to implement is still not a living wage. It is far below what is obtainable in most parts of the world but then making it possible for workers to receive such amount (thirty thousand Naira) if implemented would be a starting point towards the good things that would come in the near future. Based on that we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to president Buhari’s administration not to slash the salaries of workers that are already earning above the new minimum wage since they are in the job already. Again it would be better to have the new minimum wage as a starting point for the new workers and those who are already in the job but receiving less should have their salaries upgraded.
Again, slashing salaries may not be in the best interest of workers.
