SIX PEOPLE INCLUDING A JAPANESE DOCTOR WERE KILLED WHEN GUNMEN ATTACKED VEHICLE CARRYING MEDICAL AID TEAM IN JALALABAD.

Six people including a Japanese doctor (Dr Tetsu Nakamura) were on Wednesday shot dead when gunmen attacked vehicle carrying medical aid team in Nangarhar province of Jalalabad (Afghanistan). According to the report our correspondent gathered, Dr Tetsu Nakamura (head of Peace Japan Medical Services) was in critical condition after the attack and he underwent surgery at Bagram airfield hospital in Kabul, but unfortunately died shortly. His bodyguards, the driver and a passenger were also shot dead by the armed men. The Nangarhar police said that they were searching for the attackers and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Since 2008, Dr Tetsu Nakamura had headed the Japanese NGO in Nangarhar. May his soul and others that were killed in the attack rest in peace.
